Diversio Engineer I (India, 0-3 years)
Diversio helps organizations turn workforce data into useful insight and action. We build software and data workflows that help companies understand inclusion, track change over time, and make better decisions. Our clients include organizations like Disney, Paramount, Unilever, Microsoft, American Express, and Ceridian.
We care about accuracy, useful analysis, and building systems that hold up under real client and product needs. We also care about how the work gets done: with humility, attention to detail, curiosity, and a willingness to improve the system instead of working around it.
A role at Diversio is a chance to work with strong teammates, contribute to a product that matters, and grow quickly through real responsibility.
About the role
As an Engineer I, you will help turn client survey data into reliable insights and workflows that power the Diversio platform.
You will work closely with Client Success and Engineering to understand client requirements, map and validate data carefully, improve internal workflows, and make sure the product accurately reflects the underlying data.
This is an early-career role for fresh graduates and candidates with up to three years of experience. We care more about technical strength than tenure. You should be able to reason from first principles, write and debug code, follow data through a system, and learn unfamiliar tools quickly.

What you will do
- Work with client-provided survey data and move it accurately into the Diversio platform
- Collaborate with Client Success to understand client requirements, data structures, and edge cases
- Map, validate, clean, and transform data using Python and Django-based workflows
- Investigate data and product issues, identify root causes, and implement reliable fixes
- Improve internal tools, dashboards, and reporting surfaces used by the team
- Support client-specific implementations without creating fragile one-off solutions
- Work across technical and non-technical teams to clarify requirements and surface issues early
- As you gain context, take broader ownership across data flows, internal tooling, and platform work
Who tends to do well here
People who succeed here are genuinely curious about programming, want to understand how the technologies they use work under the hood, and keep improving through practice and feedback. They also:
- want ownership and do not need every next step handed to them
- care about details and notice patterns other people miss
- look past symptoms and try to find the underlying issue
- bring solutions, not only complaints
- are open-minded, humble, and respectful with teammates across roles
- stay calm under pressure and keep the quality bar high
- think about what is best for Diversio and our clients over the long term
- are willing to roll up their sleeves and stay close to the day-to-day work
You should have
- Strong programming and problem-solving fundamentals; you can explain how your code works and debug it methodically
- Hands-on ability to write clear, reliable Python; Django experience is helpful, but strong fundamentals and the ability to learn matter more
- Understanding of basic web application concepts, APIs, relational databases, and Git
- Comfort working with structured data, spreadsheets, CSV files, and data mapping problems
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Careful attention to detail and a bias toward accurate, high-quality work
- A proactive attitude and the ability to learn quickly with real ownership
- Good judgment when using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor
- A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to have
- Experience with Django or another backend framework through coursework, internships, projects, or paid work
- Experience in a SaaS or client-facing technical environment
- Experience with data processing, reporting, dashboards, or backend debugging
