Technical Lead- SRE (Site Reliability Engineering)

At Medly, we are building Medly Platform, a next-generation Infrastructure Platform product. Medly Platform is the foundational product, on top of which we are building the wider Product Portfolio that includes B2C, B2B and B2E products. Medly Platform’s key objective is to help us build and launch products quickly, develop and test iteratively, deploy continuously and operate these products at an unprecedented scale. 

We’re looking for a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to help us build and automate infrastructure on AWS. As a Lead SRE, you will work on tasks ranging from provisioning infrastructure using Terraform, setting up environments, ensuring continuous deployment of applications/microservices and monitoring application health.

What you’ll do

  • Work as a Software Development Lead for the Medly Platform Product team
  • Closely work with Development Managers and Product Managers from various Product teams and help them ship their products on Medly Platform
  • Strategise, design and implement SRE architecture for Product teams to build and deploy applications across various lines of business seamlessly.
  • Provision horizontally scalable, serverless AWS infrastructure resources using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform
  • Deploy and maintain critical applications environments on cloud-native Serverless infrastructure (AWSLambda, Elastic BeanStalk, Aurora Postgres, Kinesis, DynamoDB)
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to set up CI using Pipeline-as-Code tools like GitHub Actions
  • Automate Deployments using Continuous Delivery model with tools like AWS CodePipelines
  • Setup log/metric aggregation and distributed tracing for running services (CloudWatch Logs, CloudWatch Metrics, X-Ray and many more)
  • Iterate on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of deployments
  • Sustain and improve the process of knowledge sharing throughout the engineering team
  • Evangelize the Platform as product and DevOps practises across the organization


What you should have

  • 8+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer with hands-on production experience on Terraform and AWS etc.
  • Strong experience in building SaaS Products on AWS.
  • Experience in securing Applications and Infrastructure for HIPAA/HITRUST, PCI-DSS, GDPR compliance
  • Product Thinking mindset and Lean Startup


Your tool-belt

We don’t expect anybody to be an expert on all of these, but you should be deeply familiar with most, and a self-starting learner who isn’t afraid to ask for help:

  • Excellent command on Linux and MacOS
  • Expertise in Bash Scripting (must-have) and one of Node, Python or Ruby
  • In depth understanding of HTTP/REST, Reverse Proxy, OAuth2, API Gateways.
  • Mastery on AWS resources like IAM, VPC, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch
  • Provisioning Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
  • Provisioning Continuous Integration pipelines with Github Actions
  • Provisioning Continuous Deployment pipelines with AWS Code Pipelines
  • APM, Monitoring & Log Aggregation (ELK/EFK, DataDog, NewRelic etc.)
  • Ability to handle large volumes of data and metrics
  • Data Encryption in transit and at rest - SSH, HTTPS, OpenSSL, PGP, KeyBase .
